IT'S COMPLICATED: 1 CORINTHIANS Message: Already not Yet Speaker: Erin Wildsmith 1 Corinthians is an ancient letter which addresses surprisingly contemporary concerns. As a “middle-class” church under the influence of wealthy patrons, the Corinthian Christians were struggling to bring their conduct in line with their new identity in Christ. Though the specifics may differ, some confusion about what it means to follow Jesus and resist worldliness remains relevant for contemporary believers. This series will seek to explore some of Paul's important, but less regularly discussed concerns, including the church’s reputation in the community, theology of the body, resisting the ‘me-first’ impulse, living with love as we wait for Christ’s return, and the importance of bodily resurrection to Christian faith. We are excited to host our Annual Garage Sale in support of New Family Foundation's Student Fund!! Details: Saturday, September 28, 2024 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Church Parking Lot (Rain plan brings us indoors downstairs.) Be gathering your gently used items for our annual sale, raising funds for our three university students! This important fundraiser helps to make sure students, who would otherwise never have the opportunity, can pursue their academic goals leading to a solid future. How you can help: Donate items: Gently used, already priced, drop off week before (details to follow). Volunteer: Friday, September 27 for cleaning and set up, Saturday, September 28 for sales and clean up.
