These are the missions that Highview undertakes as a congregation. We believe that as followers of Christ, we are commanded to tell the story of His love for all the world, wherever we find ourselves. We believe that all Christian churches across the world are part of the greater Church, and that we must all work together in our missions. And we believe that our mission reaches from our own backyards to the other side of the world. Here you'll find a few details to whet your appetite, but for the full experience, ask someone who was or is involved with them. Even better, why not try it yourself?
BackyardsIn partnership with Calvary United Church in St. Jacobs, Friends Without Borders has been helping with the sponsorship and
resettlement of refugees in Waterloo Region. Through FWB, Highview has been directly involved in the successful settlement of two Syrian families and is currently awaiting the processing of a third while also offering support to a local family in their efforts to sponsor extended family living in Uganda. For more information on how to get involved or about our annual fundraisers - Sweet Freedom (Easter chocolate sales) and Bid for Freedom (November online auction), please contact the church. |
Regions BeyondWe are honoured to partner with Pastor Abdon and Sister Lumide (and the AEM Church) in caring for vulnerable seniors in
Pignon, Haiti. To check out the latest news from our friends at Auberge des Vieillards (Inn for the Elderly) visit highviewtohaiti.blogspot.ca. This is the ongoing story of our partnership with Pastors Suradet and Yupa (and New Family Foundation), and the gathered family of at risk and orphan children near Chiang Mai Thailand.
